The music system Thom made is awesome! I have to be doing about 5.5 mph for it to have enough power. That's a motivator to not go too slowly up a hill.
Thom had the system on his bike. he rode with us for about 15 miles yesterday and then headed back to the car. The new job is taking a toll on his riding time.
But then he drove up to the second control at mile 65 to give me the music system. I listened to Bowling for Soup for 60 miles.

Do any of these handy men-folk, with more upper body strength than me fix gazebos? My wrought-iron gazebo was twisted into a pretzel after Katrina, twisted back up again, and is now on it's last legs (litterally). Should I also mention that it's covered by a climbing rose. Buying wrought iron in this climate was a mistake - with the rose on it, it can't be painted. Many parts are now rusted through.
I need someone to build my rose a new gazebo. Oh and fix the leaky bathroom faucet. And figure out why the garage door won't go down (I JUST had the pulleys replaced), and and and
Yeah I'm an independant, but some jobs are beyond me, or rather I get tired of having to do EVERYTHING myself.
I'll quit whining now...

Feel free to whine, that's what we're here for. We understand. Sometimes I feel that cycling, thought to be an individual sport, is a team sport. It helps that someone's there whether your DP rides or not.
Hmmmm, TE work party then a ride in New Orleans. How's your gumbo?
