Bouncy, we are still under flood warning and the river rose 2 feet. I have never seen such erratic weather patterns here in the 14 years that I have lived in our little town. I used to feel sorry for the folks in CA because they get clobbered with everything, but now I think bad juju has moved south.

My parents live in Lake St Louis (I lived there for a few years as well) she has been real lucky...although she is virtually stuck...things are flooding all around her!

My step-Grandma is a Red Cross volunteer (lives in NW MO) she has not had far to travel lately to help.

I am now in the mountains of NC...I watch the storms head in our directions but the mountains always seem to break them up enough to just drop the rain we so desperately need.

I guess y'all should be up for some good-weather-karma next year! Hang in there and keep your chains lubed and tires filled...fair weather wishes being sent your way!

I just got really bad thunderstorms last night. My dogs were even scared, and they usually sleep though everything.

Nothing like having a freaked out Belgian Malinois try to bury her snout in your armpit in the middle of the night

We got lucky with our rental property in Little Rock, but part of our family was not so lucky. A distant relative has 3 trees on her house in Cammack Village.

It slid by us and didn't even drop the 2-4" of rain that were predicted. whew.

Tuckervill, what part of Little Rock is that? I was worried you guys would get slammed since they were talking the tornados that would probably be coming from Texas. It seems whenever OK gets bad weather, so does NW AR. And OK is also tornado alley.

She sleeps a lot, but she likes to haul a**, too! I am lucky enough to have a big yard, and her favorite thing is to run after sticks that I throw (although she doesn't bring them back very often). I also have 4 steps leading up to my porch, and she has never set foot on anything but the top step and the ground at the bottom!
She's sort of a rescue from a breeder in Holland. I knew a dog trainer who imported from there, and he told me that she failed the puppy temperament tests that they perform for police/service dogs. So, I volunteered to pay her airfare to have her sent over with his next "shipment" and take her as a pet in lieu of her being put down!

Do you have a picture of her? Mali's have the prettiest eyes. We think about adding a Belgian Tervuren to our pack someday.

I live right next to Oklahoma, about 80 miles due east of Tulsa. We get tornado warnings ALL THE TIME for the county in OK immediately to our west (Delaware), and they sometimes turn on for Benton Co, too. But something about the mountains causes it mostly to dissipate before it gets here. Like the Arkansas state line is some kind of barrier. There is a sign in my town that says "welcome to God's country--where Jesus is lord" (yes, I know ) So maybe that's it. lol. The storms literally skirt south or north more than they come over.

eta: Cammack Village is north of Cantrell in an old part of Little Rock. I know how to get there, but not exactly where it is. It used to be an actual town, but Little Rock swallowed it up.

To be fair, two summers ago we had straight line winds that pushed over two trees in our yard. But my house has been here for 110 years, so I hope it's at least safe for a little while longer.

    Karen
