My next door neighbor snaps green beans during his long commute - he has an enormous garden and preserves a lot of food - but he swears to us he only snaps during red lights.

He also drives around with goats in his van sometimes. When he gets out of a store, they're sitting in the front seats looking out the windows. This is when he's driving the females somewhere to be bred.

Once I came to a stoplight next to a woman knitting w/her yarn in the passenger seat. When the light turned green, I waited to see if she would put her needles down. She didn't. She drove away still knitting.

Then there's those drivers who take their work on the road. Laptop open and on sitting in the passenger seat, cell phone in one hand, PDA in another all while playing around with their nav.<shudder>

That is some pretty crazy stuff people are doing. Funny but dangerous and crazy.
I have not seen anything that nutty.

Stop reminding me. Im trying to forget they are out there. I sure hope the new door seals do the trick. Last time I looked out the back window they were massing again. YUK

It's an interesting side effect of insanely long tedious commutes.

NPR had an excellent story this morning about people choosing to live closer to work/shopping, choosing to live in smaller apts/condos but where they access to life's necessities without (or with minimal) driving. Since we're house hunting right now, that is one of the top things on my list.
