    Thank You!

Hi all. Just wanted to say my thanks to Knot for being such a great hostess, to Wahine for travelling so far just to help us all "straighten up", and to everyone else who showed up with great food and fun. It was really great to meet you all. I'm sorry that I couldn't stick around for the ride -- bummed, actually. But I needed to get home and see my friend's mother get a tatoo as a memorial to her (she passed away in December from Breast Cancer). She got a beautiful flowing pink ribbon with two butterflies, right over her heart, and Kelli's name on it. So beautiful.

So next time you all get together, I hope to get to be part of it, and part of the ride.

PS.. between yesterday and dinner last night with friends, I gained 3 lb! I NEEDED to go for the ride with you all instead of dinner last night!

    THANKS AGAIN... Really enjoyed it.
And WAHINE: I PROMISE to start doing core work -- I just saw my posture in these pictures, and it is obviously an issue! Any suggestions!?

I tried to post about the party, but I did it in the wrong thread. Oops. Clearly, I still need more sleep.

    Anyway, to sum up:
Thanks everyone for everything! It was fun! Let's do it again! Y'all rock!

(I'll try to make sure I get more than four hours of sleep before any future TE gatherings, whether or not they include riding.)

Thank-you Mimi and Mary for the pics. They turned out great.

Jesvetmed, I'm looking forward to doing a TE ride with you. Maybe we can stop for coffee somewhere?

Better yet, my fellow goddesses of the chaining - how about meeting up at a cafe and riding to one of the nearby brew pubs? I know I'm not ready for the multi-day tour version yet, but it might be ideal for a friendly half-day TE ride. Hmm... I hope the fates decide soon if I'll have a new addy or not. I wouldn't mind organizing it, but someone else will have to plan the route and lead. If I end up in PDX, I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to get BIAK to lead, since we won't be hurting for sitters if we move down there. Hey, each city can have their own and we can all report back here. Wouldn't that be cool?

Got a question about the first picture in this bunch of pictures, please?

That wheel, Boy in Apron. Truing it, yes? You have something in your hand --what is it, please? Is it something that would be helpful for DH? He gets to work on his wheel fairly frequently, since he breaks spokes every now and again. (one day, he annoyed himself greatly: kicked the wheel inadvertently unclipping, took out several!) He's getting pretty good at truing, but maybe there are some tools that he doesn't have yet that would make it easier?

Kano -- (always looking for gift ideas, since he's really hard to buy for!)
I think you might be referring to a spoke wrench. They can be purchased individually or as a set. If all your bikes have the same size spokes, you'll only need just the one. Just make sure to get the right size though.

BIAK seems to prefer the ones shaped like this:

I hope that answers your question,

SGT: Cafe to pub... my kind of day. I'm all in! I'm afraid that I can't be useful setting up a route in the Seattle area... but if anyone wants to come up this way (Mt Vernon area), I have several options, and a beautiful ride area. Finding a weekend that works is my only problem... my schedule sucks, but it is NOT impossible!

KG, Pika - can we do this in the Okanagan?? Are there any brew pubs in Kelowna? There's one in Salmon Arm.....but none in Vernon that I know of. Any chance we could hook this up for when CC is here? I've taken the 2 days off work, but we could aim for say 4:30 or something. Pika - could you work that in as a recovery ride in your training? CC - how tall are you? We should be able to find a road bike or mountain bike you can use. And maybe we can get the DH's in too?

    Wouldn't that be cool?

We could start from Mt Vernon and ride to the brew pub in La Conner and/or to the brew pub in Anacortes and there's a brew pub in Mt Vernon also!
I love doing the Mt Vernon - La Conner ride during April; can't beat seeing the tulip fields by bike!
Yes, Jes, you've got lots of great routes up there; I've done a number of them over the years and it'd be a lot of fun to do a TE ride.
