I've been wondering if I should PM her for a while, but I've been hoping she's just very busy!

Sorry if I missed her signing off - but I just noticed I passed her in mileage on BikeJournal today, and then I realized she hasn't been around here in several weeks. Hopefully I'm worrying for nothing, but I worry when a frequent poster just vanishes![]()

Me too. I noticed it when I was updating my bike journal entry...
I hope she is just busy with her work and life.
Someone is from Chirstchurch, isn't that close to where she lives?

Roadraven is from Napier...on the north island..Quite a distance from Christchurch!!!
MillieNZ or nomummytummy live closer to her.
Well, it's real close compared to southern California...![]()

Really nice to see this thread… sorry to have you all wondering but very “warm fuzzy-ish” to know I was missed!
I am well, but life has just been very busy… I have popped in occasionally but just as a visitor and not actually logging in.
I am only logging in now to reply to this thread – I see when I have time to spend chatting (cause you all know I like to do that!) its gonna take a concerted effort to catch up with all the new posts and threads (and add my 2 cents!)
I am working very hard at work/life balance in 2008 and making sure I have time with my family and time to focus on my bike-riding. Plus we have been under-staffed this year by two teachers, but a new person joined our team last week and another joins us in May, so am starting to feel the pressure ease.
I will not regret doing extra work in ten years, I will regret not spending time with my family or not getting on my bike.
As for my cycling… well… I am very focused, training very specifically for time trials, with specific goals in mind for 2008. And already I am having success.
I have improved – on a TT course I do regularly I have been able to lift my average from 31kph at the end of 2007 to almost 33kph in February this year.
I did the “Tremain Tri” last month (it’s a team event and I did the –surprise surprise – cycling leg) with a goal of completing the 19kms in 35minutes – I did it in 33:30, no drafting… that’s just on 34kph.
I have been naughty – I drafted behind a truck yesterday for nearly a km… doing about 54kph… talk about motor pacing to the max!
I have ridden more than ever in the past three years - about 500km per month (not including indoor/spin bike time).
I have ridden with my sons, my daughter, my partner and my friends.
I have supported two other people in their 40’s/50’s onto bikes again (like me they had not ridden a bike since they were in their teens).
And I have started a BUG at work – a Bike User Group – and got over 30 work-mates to participate in a NZ-wide bike challenge… now just to get the campus bike-friendly!!!
Still obsessed with cycling? – yes!
Still obsessed with racing? – YES!
Missing TE??? Very much… thank you for missing me.

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow".
Great to hear from you Raven!
