Starfish, I will be walking the run. And I just got the book The Slow Fat Triathlete and, when I saw this thread, was RIGHT at the part where she says, so what if you're overweight? If you want to do a tri, don't wait to lose weight, just start where you are...etc. I believe she did her first tri at 220 lbs. She is a total hoot and I highly recommend the book.
I am probably 70 pounds overweight right now. I am doing the Danskin. I will look however I look. But I'm gonna do it anyway. I too would love a swim/bike thing, since even at a normal weight while in great shape, I was never interested in running, and doubt I ever will be.
