I'm late to the party, too.... Congrats!!! I agree your life experience and parent experience will help you tremendously.

I did law school on a somewhat alternative track, taking some night classes because I worked full time. I was always very impressed with the night student crowd - more mature, generally folks getting into a second career type thing. You'll be setting a great example for the younger students as well.
