I did a bike commute to work and back (almost 10 miles each way). Even stopped off for some minor shopping on the way home.

I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

The great thing about cycling short commutes is that there's no reason to consolidate trips
Did the usual road loop this morning with the boys. Saw two sandhill cranes right by the side of the road. Later on in the ride, a stereo system fell out of a pickup truck in the opposite lane. CDs and broken stuff went everywhere! Luckily it wasn't that close to us and the CDs stopped rolling before they even got to us. 36 moderately strenuous miles.
Then a shower and off to the acupuncture doctor and grocery shopping on the commuter bike, about three and a half miles.
And finally, another four miles with DH to dinner and back.

Went out with DH after work. He had to change a tire, so it was just a 15 miler. Just as well, we are facing Jester in the morning. Did a little work drafting and even pulling! I generally hate pulling but had fun this time. I am really trying to embrace it. Definite victory for me today.![]()

DH took the day off from work today, after boss asked him yesterday "why are you here instead of skiing?" So, he got me up bright and early (well, it was almost bright) and we went skiing for a few hours. When we got home, we put those toys away, and got out our bikes. DH's first ride of the season, and we just did a ten miler -- it was a first for us, to ski and bike in the same day!
Poor dear -- he has a cold, and it was an achy kind of day. So, we're riding, and he's kind of dragging on the way home, and I asked him how he was doing. "I just want to be home now" he said -- his butt forgot about his saddle, he says, and he was tired already after skiing with that cold of his!
I wonder if we'll be going on the ride tomorrow morning? (it's a group "season opener")

Beautiful day! .... I got in 10 miles late in the afternoon, my first ride since last Saturday. Set a new personal best for average mph on the route I was riding---upped my av by a full .5mph. I started doing longer rides recently, in the 25 to 35 mile range (long for me) and I think I'm beginning to see the pay-off in terms of overall strength. I'm trying to use my short rides during the week to push myself along speedwise.
Took my dog with me yesterday; she stayed in the truck while I rode. Her reward for being patient was a post-ride amble along the edge of a picture-perfect, geese-laden, tree-lined pond as the sun began to set. ...... Hoping to get in a solid 20 to 25 tomorrow if rain passes us by.
Oh, and Friday's ride officially put me over 400 miles for the year since 1/1, yayyyy!
