Petrol prices here are up to $NZ1.83 a litre - which equates to about $US5.60 a gallon - right now I am grateful I don't have a car and pretty much ride everywhere. I did have to buy some new panniers though - my old ones finally gave out after being used regularly for 5 years for my grocery shopping
