Karen, sending prayers for the safe return of your son.

My backyard is kinda flooded too. Heard on KAIT 8 that Jonesboro had a few clouds with rotation but nothing that touched down. I hope Union University in Jackson, TN doesn't get clobbered again with a tornado. It's so early in the season for it. I wonder what it'll be like by May.

Here's a tornado watch update from NOAA:

    checking in

Sandra, how are you fairing in this weather? How is everyone else doing?

We had quite a bit of rain and there's more in the forecast for today. A lot of flash flood warnings are popping up everywhere. Fortunately we don't live near any rivers. By tonight it should clear up.

Stong winds all day yesterday, clouds whipping by. Rain sometime during the night, but not stormy enough to wake me or the furry beasts. Just glad I'm not camping in it like I was last week. Got to love 4 solid walls.

So not too bad here on the southern coast. Still raining this morning. I did hear on the radio that there are power failures throughout the area.

Bmc, we had crazy wind and rain yesterday afternoon but last night it was relatively quiet. Just glad we didn't have to deal with any tornados. Did LA have any?

Yikes! Is that what’s heading into GA this afternoon? People still have trees in their houses from Friday’s tornadoes, and downtown Atlanta is still a mess. I hope this doesn’t cause even more damage.

    And the flooding continues.

We have to cross a bridge over Black River to get to civilization (Wal-Mart, major cities, etc.) and the flood stage is 17.0 feet. The river is going to crest at 32 feet on Monday. Already the water is headed towards the highway and the fast food places. Wally World may have to set up sand bags pretty soon as they are located not far from the river.

We're up in the hills, but to get to our part of town, you have to cross a bridge either from the east or west, and both rivers are flooded. Please pray that it doesn't get worse for those who live in the midwest.

The boy made it home safely, with only a 10 minute delay, and then he talked my ear off all the way home! I missed him so much.

The rain just does not stop! I see the clearing line just to the west of us, but it keeps building up from the south. Had to park my car funny to keep out of the lake in my driveway.

Instead of Flash Flood Warnings, they're warning about FLOOD period for us. We don't live near a river but I'm sure those by the Illinois River and on Sager Creek headed to higher ground a long time ago.

My four dogs (my 2 plus my son's 2 who are staying here for a bit) spent all day inside yesterday, and now they're out *frolicking* in the mud. joy.

    Karen
