We only have chip seal here --- I have a friend whose husband is Israeli, and I chatted with him a couple of years ago about the roads in NZ which he really dislikes because apparently in Israel they are straight and smooth.

I only appredciate his commments now - to come across a small patch of smooth seal where a road repair has been made is such a treat - but these are only metres long...
