Now we need some powdered soy nut butter, for those of us who are allergic to peanuts...
I finally found some soy nut butter that doesn't have preservatives, taste like doo-doo, and it tastes just like pb.

The smallest amount you can buy is a 4 pack at the website, but people sell single jars on ebay (twice the cost per jar). Just get two or three other pb eaters to try it with you. I doubt you would have trouble finding a home for the extra jars if you don't like it. It is available in some stores, too. The closest one to here is NY, though. There is a search on the website.
The yogurt and smoothie ideas are GONNA happen. Vanilla designer whey protein shake with peanut butter favoring, WHOO HOO! Now that's a meal.![]()
"Do or do not. There is no "try." Yoda
There are hundreds of recipes out there for cooking and baking with this stuff (cookies, breads, smoothies, stirfries, sauces, etc). I think I have a link on my home computer, so once I get it unpacked, I'll come back and post it here.
I went in with some friends to order this awhile back and I've still got most of the jar left. I've used it in smoothies and it's tasty...but as I'm not a huge PB fan, I'd rather just use a little of the real stuff. It is really good though. All the friends I placed the original order with have since ordered 4 more jars for themselves, they use it that much.
I've heard it rocks when sprinkled on ice cream or frozen yogurt!![]()
My new non-farm blog: Finding Freedom
Just checked the website that is listed in the very first post... there are over 100 recipes posted there as well. Sounds interesting enough -- I am a HUGE Skippy PB fan, so I'm not sure how I will do with this -- probably excellent for cooking, smoothies, etc., but when it comes to eating straight, really bad for you, creamy PB, I will likely stick to the real thing and deal with the fat and additives! But I am keeping an OPEN MIND!

Everyone Deserves a Lifetime
Hey Pedal Wrench... that's awesome! I noticed all those bikers last year.. especially because we started DEAD LAST, and the poor bike lady had to stay behind us, "bringing up the rear", so to say! Isn't it an amazing experience? This will be my third walking -- I might try to crew next year. Have fun on yours!
OK... back to Peanut Butter -- or the powdered stuff, anyway!![]()
Everyone Deserves a Lifetime
I just noticed that the proportion of fat calories to total calories in this stuff is still pretty high (but better than real pb for sure).
Reg PB (2 tablespoons)
16g fat 190 cals. 1 fat gram=9 cals 9 x 16=144 144/190=
75% of cals from fat
PB2 (2 tablespoons)
Calories 54.138
Total Fat 2.84g 2.84 x 9=25.54 25.54/54.14=
47% of total cals from fat.
Still OT, but I'll get us back there -- just watch... You should totally crew! We work as route safety, and it's actually a 3-Day staff member who's the 'caboose'. I rode with her for a little while last year because she seemed so lonely at the back! Her job really is to stay with the last walkers. This time, the last walkers were a group, so she was kinda by herself, so I hung out with her. What a great job.
Here goes -- did you try those amazing PEANUT BUTTER and jelly graham cracker sammies? Oh my, they're incredible!
(See how I did that???)
For 3 days, I get to part of a thousand other journeys.
