Thanks for sharing a great story! One of the perks of teaching special ed is all the hugs we get. You leave the room for a few minutes to go to the office, and when you come back, some kids will hug you like you've been gone for days! I've had administrators who've told me they come by the classroom just to get those guaranteed hugs. There's nothing like unconditional love!
