Arizona TE Pre- Ironman AZ Get together

Ok ladies, it's time for a TE get together ARIZONA style!!
It seems like there are going to be a few out of towners in for Ironman AZ, so I think that week would be a great time to do it.
I'm thinking a lunch or dinner down in Tempe near the race site.
Sound good?? Who is in and what are your plans around that time?
The race is on April 13th. So I'm thinking either a dinner on 4/10 or 4/11, or lunch on the saturday before the race. Or we could even do breakfast since they have the open water swims in the morning...
    Whaddya think??

I did get reservations ... however, if I can go, I won't get there until late late saturday... so I would just be there to be a cheerleader on the day of the race...

Bummer I won't be able to see you before the race. But the upside to me being such a slow swimmer is that you won't be able to MISS me coming out of the water!!!

I get into AZ on 4-11-08 (Fri) at 1:10 PM. My family will be there, so I'm pretty sure dinner would be out for me.

4-12-08 (Sat) I will have a 6-hour bike ride to do. So breakfast before my ride could work. Or I could do something before dinner. I know with people (Denise!) racing the next day... that might not be the best plan. I know I'll drop my bike off at Denise's shop after my ride for shipping. If I can that is.

4-13-08 (Sun) RACE DAY!!!!! I hope I get a visual on everyone racing so I can spot you coming around.

4-14-08 (Mon) I fly out at 11:05 AM. If my bike didn't make it to Denise on Sat, then I have to try to do it Monday, or someone in my family will have to drop it off.

we could always bring it back with us after the race. We have a rack in the truck. My husband makes a good bike sherpa. Ask Tracy P, she saw him in action at IMAZ 06!

Saturday we have to drop our gear off at the race site, so maybe a mid day affair would work? This is my third gig (laura's too I think) I don't anticipate being too wigged out over the race. It might be nice to enjoy some company and take my mind off the impending doom...
I swear I'm going to be the most undertrained athlete (and I use that term loosely) out there! OY. But it is what it is, and it's not like I've never been there before... sigh...

Oh yeah.... Tony is awesome!!! I'm bummed I'll miss you on Saturday... maybe I can work something out. I made the reservation knowing that would be the hardest part to deal with if I waited any longer... I'll have to see if I can get Saturday covered at work!

    Denise,
I am flying in on Thursday. I really want to do the open water swim practice on Friday morning. If you are doing it too maybe we can get together for breakfast /brunch afterwards?

I won't be doing any open water swimming here in AL so I really need to get the open water practice before the race.

Are you doing the open water practice on Friday?

Denise, thanks for the offer on Tony taking my bike race day. Although, I don't really see it working out too well. I'm sure I can get it to the shop Saturday. That way, I can see the shop!

Or, I'll have a family member drop it off Monday after I leave. I'm not in a rush to get it back since I'll have my nice roadie at home to ride.

I could meet for breakfast on Sat before my ride... or Saturday after my ride.
