That sucks that you had such a bad experience. I had a similar problem, and received very kind treatment from an ObGyn. She was very athletic, so she "got it." I may be in the minority here, but when I've had discrete bumps, I've used acne medication on them. It stings for a second, but it pulls a lot of the inflammation out, and they generally heal on their own. Otherwise, I say see the doc you're comfortable with, and if she can't help, ask her for a referral with an explanation of your last experience.
