me too!!!! I went for a 5 mile fitness walk with my girlfriend in my jersey, riding jacket & long fingered riding gloves. I drove to her house with my bike and we made the decision at her house. It would have been my first outdoor ride this year. The forecast was for less wind and temps at 46. Instead it was galeforce winds on the south shore of Long Island. geeeeze

I took an hour's ride on the new Bike Friday. It was windy and a bit cold to start, but I warmed up and really like this bike! It felt like I was riding a regular bike, except for the curious looks that passersby gave me. Great ride, big hill was not bad at all.

I took my Sutra on her maiden voyage yesterday completely equipped with the Garmin (also out on its maiden voyage) for my first outdoor ride of the season. I have had an enlightenment on cycling, if you will. The weather was beautiful and there were lots of people on the trail. I even saw an older lady with her hot pink folding bike and she looked happy as can be. I ended up doing about 19.5 miles yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic! Ooopsss... posted this on 3-3-08 thread... I rode on 3-2-08! HA!

Rode 50 miles in wind gusts up to 45 mph. At about mile 48, 3 of us got blown off our bikes. I hit the ground hard on my right side. Bike is fine and I'm pretty OK. Just a little sore.

Honestly, I found it very funny that the wind took us for a ride like that!

Otherwise it was a great ride and even though the wind was like riding into a brick wall at times, I never let it get into my head.
