    Thankyou. I have a feeling that the foam rollers and the massuse are the only options on this. When I came back, I did some searching the net and basically ended up with the above solutions. Not very fun. I guess, I will just have to endure the pain a bit somehow while doing this.

    Perhaps I should add You Tube into my search categories from now on. Seems there is something there for everyone.

    If what you're experiencing is what I think it is....

    These hot spots (in PT we call them trigger points) are areas with a high concentration of nerve endings, particularly those that help to regulate overall muscle tone, (muscle spindles). When there is an irritant in the muscle, eg all the lovely things that cells release related to activity, especially increased activity, a neurological feedback loop gets kicked into play and you end up with trigger points. They are a reflection of irritation in the muscle.

    Foam roller techniques work well. So does The Stick

    Get the foam roller. It has helped me in my rehab with ITB. It really works. It hurts, but in a good way.

    You are one heckava lot tougher than I am! It just plain HURTS, a LOT. No good way about it (for me)! But, it helps. Wish it didn't, cause it does help.
