I just found this thread ... Very nice!

Today was fun, a short but pleasant ride on a clear sunny day, with friends and lunch with them after. Portland Int'l Raceway was repaved over the winter, and they had "open house" today. Walkers from 10am to 11am, bikes and walkers sharing the road from 11am to one, then the cars and motorcycles after 1pm. Brand new smooooooth pavement for our bicycle races this year will be wonderful!!!

I am thankful ... that my mother is moving on, that she got busted out of the hospital today and that my sister was there for her this week to help.

... for all the beautiful trees we saw today.

... for nature's infinite layers of texture, colour and density.

Thankful that I didn't get hit on the road today by the reckless (and they think drunk) kid who crashed his car just a way down the road.

Thankful to the nice fireman who took pity on me after over an hour of standing there, sweat-drenched and freezing in the cold, darkening afternoon.

The Staters were letting a lot of people walk around, including some locals who lived there, but they wouldn't let me through, even after the ambulances were gone, and after a bunch of people had walked around all over the site.

That fireman said, "Don't look around, just follow me, then disappear." I was freezing cold, and he helped me get on my way, only 20 minutes back to my car. It was the very end of my ride.

I am thankful that I finally found my driver's licence yesterday while on my way to the DMV to get a new one! It's been missing since last fall....

It's Sunday! And sorta sunny. Also, looks like I might be able to ride outside tomorrow before work.

I am thankful I have a sweetie who understands bike love, and even enables it!

(and doesn't think I'm a nut for spending $XX for a pair of bike shorts, but get hives at the thought of spending anywhere near that for a pair of pants to wear to work)

I'm also thankful for the beautiful quiet ride I had this morning in the soft gray light, and thankful for the bike lanes my neighborhood put on the low-traffic side streets. (encouraging bikes to avoid the high-traffic main streets altogether)

I'm so thankful that Starfish was not injured by a car and that she arrived safely at her home.

I'm thankful that there are no TE'ers in the hospital who are critically injured. I enjoy the fellowship of these wonderful gals.

Today I am thankful for the spring-like weather.. the window is open and I can hear the birds singing!

I'm going to say I'm thankful for the 1.5 hours on the trainer I have to do now, but I'm not sure that's not a fib? No... I AM thankful! I'll be more thankful when it is over, though!

    Monday, I am grateful

For being able to ride outside before work. No ice, no rain, not too cold

For having only THREE more days left in my current assignment (the one from hell) and therefore, only THREE more commutes all the way out to Herndon

For my rad, comfy Frye harness boots, which are my choice of footwear w/skirts during the winter.

I'm thankful for the bike that is sitting on my trainer at the foot of my bed. I'm excited to try a new spinervals tomorrow.

I'm thankful for benadryl. When expensive allergy eye drops fail, I have something to fall back on.

I'm thankful for TE, everyone here has been so helpful and inspirational.
