Eden, Susan, thanks. This is one of those rides I have always wanted to do, but have not wanted to brave the crowds. Sounds like a route that will help with Climbing Club numbers!

here are photos!
no, the roads are not sandy. They are in better condition than Seattle's roads.

Hey Mimi, I was browsing through my pictures and found one I took 3 years ago I believe on my last Chilly Hilly. It will give people an idea of what a ton of bikes on the ferry would look like . . .
I KNOW THAT HILL! I've made it every time I rode! It's crazy! One year I had to pass people by going over the yellow lines onto the other side (very quickly) to get around them! Great shot!!!!!!!!!

I though about all you Chilly Hilly riders yesterday! I wish I had gone! It looks and sounds like it was a fun ride this year.
Yes, I see that person behind number 2633! That was one of the most frustrating things for me when I rode in the chilly hilly; the number of "novice" riders who did not know the rules of biking on the road.

I love it that the women didn't have to wait! There is a ride like that in MA (Climb to the Clouds) where there is a distinct and favorable difference in the bathroom lines.
That looks like a great ride. My husband and I did a ride through Bainbridge a few years ago - we especially loved the bike shop and the farmers market. You Seattle people live in such a beautiful part of the country - we were astounded!
