Weeeeeeeeee..a little weeeeeeeeeeeeee...
I'm working my way to getting back on the bike paths full time but for now it's still easy rides. They'll have to be easyish as i'm keeping an eye on how my knee feels during and after riding. I know I can't just jump out of the saddle and power down so for now it's focusing on pedalling properly, gearing and being aware of my surroundings.
Today I decided to venture down to my black spot and make the point of going under the overpass & up the little hill. I took some photos to give you an idea of how cornering can be a bit exciting some days..As you can tell from either direction, one can't see if anything is around the corner until it's too late. First photo is heading towards the underpass on your left, etc. The last photo is from the other side and up the hill a bit. I'm not the best photographer when i have my sunglasses on..
I'll still bike but i think i'll be a bit more aware of what's going on round the corner...
For now, it's just nice to be able to bike outside!! There are people out there. I shall get there..

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, CC. I'm glad you did this.

CC - I'm glad you went back to the place of your accident at a time when you were not in a hurry or stressed to see how you'd do. It is a corner with limited visability. There were a lot of those in Edmonton on the trail system. You might remember or maybe you didn't ride back then. Anyway, it certainly looks like a corner for serious slowing down to make sure you're clear before enteing under the underpass. Take care, I hope you get to start your commuting again soon.

That is wonderful CC - it's been so inspiring to watch your positive attitude and hard work to get back on your bike. I can't wait until you are healed 100% and able to do everything you did before, and maybe more! Congratulations!!

Congratulations CC!!
In the spirit of pushing back out of a comfortable situation.... I rode 42 miles solo today. I haven't done much riding alone (other than a simple 13 mile route near home) since being hit with garbage by a couple teenagers in September. Today the weather was too beautiful to stay in, so off I went. I even dropped a couple guys, I never drop anyone.![]()

Thanks for your support..
It was a nice ride and enforced the idea that it's possible to get back out there but i'll need to give myself time.
I'm now at the stage of just being plain annoyed with my kneeI just want to be able to cycle normally..
I'm not over going crazy yet..GRGHGGHGHGHGHHGH..
Great job CC!
Spring has sprung in texas, I actually managed to do 2 club rides this weekend, 40 miles on saturday and 28 on sunday! I pushed really hard on saturday and road with a new peer group, moderately paced men and fast paced women. We ended up with a group of strong men that got a kick out of 'pulling the girls' so many of us did a personal best on that ride. We 40 milers even beat the fastest men's group in that was doing 50 miles, which was a first for many of us. But, I paid for it today, crawled up the hills on what started out as an aggresive ride but ended up more of a recovery ride.
The weather is so nice, that I am getting ready to drive a bunch of clothes and food in to work so I can ride in all week.
Have not been riding too much, but today DH and I rode 38 miles. 38 miles was my goal as I am turning 38 this week so the ride was to usher in my new ageI pushed the pace a little faster then usual. After the ride DH said he felt fine, my legs were a little tired. He took a "short" nap then was trying to walk down stairs and was complaining his that his legs were tired
My plan if all goes well with my back and hamstrings is to run 38 min on my birthday. Sounds kind of silly I know but it gives me a goal. Used to be able to run longer but a few years ago all my running destroyed my hamstrings. We will see what happens. Have a great ride
