There is a group in the club known as the Mad Dogs. I'm not officially a Mad Dog but I do participate in the centuries they host throughout the season. Last seaon, shortly after my surgery to remove my hair filled dermoid cyst, when one the Mad Dogs inquired about my surgery. I explained what the doctors found and that my cyst was filled with hair. Upon arriving back our cars I was given the Mad Dog nickname of "Hairball." Each and every time I hear someone shout out "Hi Hairball" I can't help but smile and chuckle.

I turned my nickname into my legal name.

I have a nickname at the dojo, it's not oft used but it's

    (insert legal name here) _____a'nator.

I showed up for a ride and introduced as "here's _____a'nator"

Some were shocked. I'm 5'1". BTW I did not get the nickname by being vicious, I got it from a simply horrific e-mail fauxe pas (sp?) of global proportions

Cynthia - My real name (I usually am called Cindy)

Cynch - a cute nickname until puberty hit - then it just sent the wrong message so I insisted that it stop.

Skinch-Bag - My brothers morphed version of Cynch

Luchea - My sisters morphed version of Cynch

Scoop - My artistic name earned for the way I scooped oil paint up with the palet knife and brought it to the canvas

Legs - Hey, I am 5'8". I really should be called Feet

    This is a fun thread!!!

    Yours truly - Skinch-Bag

The bike club I'm with gave me the nickname "fruitgirl" b/c the first event I volunteered with them, I had this cooler w/ snacks and whatnot(incl some fruit) enough for everyone and the name stuck. Every now and then if there's an event I'm asked did I bring any goodies. My other new nickname w/ them is Madam Secretary since I'm club secretary now. Jenn

My nickname from middle school is Corny, short for Cornflakes. It was middle school after all.

My alternate personality's name is Kit McCracken. She used to be a pirate, but now she plays roller derby.

    and mine's Bron

Although I was flattered to learn that the rest of my group on a biathlon course were referring to me as the "Power Frau" (I was the only girl there).

Well, not really..people have tried to use Jeannie on me...I'm not warm at that moment. I truly dislike the diminunitive of my name on me, but on someone else it works...like another cyclist, she's a good friend... but it's her real name.

Unless you count my name in my mother tongue..which it is used in that language and I will respond. It is actuallly a beautiful translation into English : "Precious" or "Highly Treasured" and with my middle name which translates as Orchid. So the 2 together is poetic (to me).

Well, sorry, come to think of it, he calls me Poobie, if it's not dearie.

And I call him....honey-jurgen-bear...... his German, legal first name is Hans-Jurgen (he has an English name)...because he does have honey everyday...

And yea, we call each other these names while cycling..

"Andemor". It means duck-mother, and was given to me by the 4 friends I spent a year or so in 2003 teaching to rock-climb. We had a blast They're all colleagues, and my son still calls them collectively "the ducklings".

Also because I love ducks. They seem so contented. Try to feed them whenever I can
