So Wahine... how are those Newtons working out?

Did you break them in yet with all your running?

I tried on some today in the store... and I liked them. Just wasn't ready to plop down $175 for some clown running shoes. Sorry, but they do look like clown shoes. Couldn't they make them in better colors? But, they fit nice and felt pretty cool. Of course, $175 is expensive any way you slice it.

The guy in the store said it takes around 60 miles to break them in. Would you agree? Also, I wonder... once you break in one pair and you learn how to run in them... do you have to wait 60 miles to break in the next pair?

    Hhhhhuuummmm???

Well, I might end up getting some for my short runs... but for my long runs since I do a 5 minute walk/2 minute run combo I'll stick with my Brooks.

I haven't been wearing them much yet. The weather has been pretty crumby here and because I've been loading on the mileage, I haven't wanted to throw a new shoe into the mix. I will start using them on the track soon for my speed work. Maybe in a few weeks.

The colour is meant to be guady so people take notice. On top of it all, their main athlete is Michellie Jones and she loooooooooooves pink. So the girls will always have a pink factor I would guess. What Michellie wants...

Ah... got it. Yea, don't mess up those pretty shoes in yucky snow, rain, etc.

See, the colors they had in store were the high-visibility YELLOW. Pink I could do.

And I don't know, I'm kind of low key when it comes to training and racing. I'm slow. I really don't need shoes calling attention to me... and just how slow I am. Ya know.

Well, they are more like a yellow-green kind of color.

I would take the pink over those any day.
