Yes, I was a bit unclear. I wear several layers pure wool when camping. All boring navy blue and black, and I don't need any more.

But here she turns up wearing this cute hoody in MY colour, for the car ride to and from the trip, and I suddenly really really wanted to go buy myself one too... Though I'd probably just wear it around the office.
Winter riding is much less about badassery and much more about bundle-uppery. - malkin

    Well she had some nerve!!
    Too funny.
I have cute but non-practical things in my wardrobe too, for sure.

OK, I am about to leave for an interview for the grad program i am applying to. It is about 19 out, with wind chills down to about 5 degrees. It is sunny. I have to park my car, walk about a block and wait for the train outside. Then, when I get to my destination, i have to walk about half a mile to the university. The train will get there about an hour before my meeting, so I plan to hole up in Starbucks or somewhere! I have wool pants on, with my light weight silk underwear underneath, fleece lined Ugg boots, a heavy ribbed cotton crewneck, and my Shak. I plan to wear my wool coat and heaviest dress gloves, which are fleece and thick, along with a wool scarf. I am deciding whether to wear my "dress" wool cap or my hat with the ear flaps, like the one Lisa had a picture of back a few pages here. I am leaning toward the un-dressy one. I have to also wait for the return train back home at 5 PM, and it will be dark almost and COLD. I just don't want to look unprofessional when I walk in, but at this point, I am not caring.
