A friend of mine was hit by a car while riding her bike. She was on the Canadian National team for Tri. She was in a coma for a month and it took her 2 years to work through all her injuries, multiple fractures etc. Finally 2 years later she decides to try to race. No expectations, no pressure. She placed in a national team qualifier, her first race back and ended up going to Mexico City for worlds.

    Just a little inspirational story.

Rocknroll, just hang in there and know I'm in your corner. I recently had another setback besides what my body experienced as the result of my nasty fall. It taught me to be *patient* and allow the rhythm of healing to take place. I am not a good patient, neither am I a patient person, but I finally listened to my body and allowed the healing to take place. I am enjoying my cycling now more than ever and you will too when it's time to get back in the game.

In the mean time, while I wait.. there is wine, dark chocolate, Jane Austin on PBS every Sunday night, my awesome DH, my fat furry psycho kitty, World Without End by Ken Folliet and oh lest I forget...

    PT sessions....

    Thanks for the inspiration....

    Did I mention the wine...

    Have you considered some wine?

Personally, I'd suggest having some wine...

Great advice here - take it easy and just don't think too much about where you are and where you want to be in your training. Heal!

Here's a funny anecdote of my own "OMG I can't do ANYTHING" moment today - DD and I went for a great hike. It was beautiful. We talked a lot, which was great because in middle school communication's hit and miss. So we stop halfway through the hike to sit on a knoll overlooking the ocean - and after about 10 minutes a GIANT bumblebee decides it is going to dive bomb us. Fine - except I can't use my arm to get up and scoot away from it, so in the process of trying to get myself up I totally popped my shoulder somehow. OW!! It's fine now, but it was just one of those moments.

Oh, I'm watching the Jane Austen series on Masterpiece too. Isn't it wonderful?!

P.S. And I'm drinking a glass of merlot right now. Just finished some organic dark chocolate.
