Back up to 161.Hoping for a better week next week.

Didn't weigh meself on Friday Am as i wasn't too awake prior to driving to swimming![]()
Anywho, sat Am is fine..I'm 66.1kg.
A week of riding Death Valley and I'm UP 2 pounds. Phooey! So, now I'll have to get serious.![]()
I am still at 147 - but I do have to tell a short story.
I do Body Pump classes twice a week at the Y, and have been taking them for several weeks. On Tuesday I stopped and asked the instructor a question, and she looked at me and said, "By the way, you look great. You have lost weight since you started and you look awesome".
It made my day. I actually haven't lost an ounce, but my body is taking on a totally different shape at the tender age of 45 and people are noticing!!
Even though I didn't lose, I ate clean and feel good. I will keep on..........
I am never down. I am either up or getting up.
Writing this late at night because I'll only have time in the AM to post a quick number and head for work early... but I just wanted to say that I really appreciate everyone being so supportive and working to be healthy together.
For the first time in my 33.6 years, I'm actually watching what I eat very carefully. I'm not giving in to impulse or debauchery. I am on the road to being healthier. I've been fit most of my life, and fat as well for a lot of it. I just can't explain how empowering it is to realize that I might be able to lose enough weight to actually be sort of fast this season. ((Well, I was always fast on the downhills and singletrack. It was just that I always got dropped on the hills.)) It's only mid-February. Riding season for me doesn't start 'til mid-April. I could feasibly be down below my average adult weight by then. Whoopee!
And the AM weigh-in ... 197.5, down two more pounds, 11.5 from start.

CycleSutra - that's a great message! I'm so glad you're doing so well and feeling so empowered. You can do it, you are doing it. Reading that from you was empowering for me.
I'm DOWN this week from 148.6 to 147.4. A miracle, a miracle!! Haha, just kidding. I worked for it. It's probably just water right now, but I started using Sparkpeople and tracking my calories. I realized I haven't been eating unhealthy food, I've just been eating too few calories in the morning and snacking too much later on. And I've been dehydrated and craving salt so cutting down on that has been great.
Also I got a new yoga mat this week and look forward to starting up power yoga again. My old one has been used as a sweat catcher/pad for the bike trainer.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and next week.
Do we only have one week left in this challenge? Oh, my - that is not enough time!
I concur with everyone about having the support of others to help you out when you need it most. Thank you everyone - your posts are inspiring.
CycleSutra - you go girl! And nonsmoker3, that's what it's all about - Congratulations to you too!
I really would like to continue with a new weight loss thread when this one ends. I have a feeling that I am going to be sending out quite a few water bottles, though, unless I get my act together.
I started off quite strong during this challenge, lost it during my anniversary vacation, and have never really been able to get back on track since then. Just can't quite get the motivation back that I had at the beginning to eat nice and healthy.
I really need a clean slate to start again. So, here's to another try at this.
Weight this morning: 143

Man, I do not like weighing in on Fridays. It's like my scale knows it's coming and gives me a hard time. Yesterday morning I swear I was 118.3 but this morning, it's 119.6 so that's what I'll go with. Same thing happened last Friday.![]()

Ok.. I think the weight is the same -- 174.6lb. Which, I feel is lucky. I worked out more miles, longer swims, longer and harder rides, but my diet this week fell apart!
Sunday I will be going to a conference in Las Vegas with friends for 4 days. This will be a hard week for me -- eating out every meal, etc. I'll have to buy some walnuts and fruit and veggies for snacking on! Wish me luck... taking the swimsuit and running shoes -- I'm sure the hotel has a gym and pool, so at least I can get up in the morning and make amends for my culinary sins of the night before.
By the way -- do we HAVE to stop the challenge? I like the idea of a weekly check in long term -- sort of our own Weight Watchers' meetings. What does everyone think?

Oh yeah, I will not stop at that horrible Starbucks for a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino before work...........
think "skinny"
as in "starbucks grande skinny decaf mocha" which i have developed a daily craving for.
i guess its made with sugarless syrup(?) as well as non-fat no-whip.
i googled "skinny mocha" and actually found the weight watchers point value (its 3 points, i think).

Friday's weight 132.........Thursday's weight 130. What gives? I know probably fluid, but it's real frustrating when you're down to those almost there but not quite pounds.
O dear...I have gotten waaaaay off track. I suspect it has something to do with adding a lot more intensity to the workouts. I am wanting more naps, and I think, more food.
I think I need to reconsider how I am doing my eating now that I am doing a little more time/week and intensity with workouts.
I was hoping to be farther along on the weight loss before the intensity heated up, but we are now into mid-February, and I still have a lot of weight to lose.![]()
