My partner makes variations of the butternut squash soup or carrot soup. Often he uses a vegetable broth base. There's never any cream. In it maybe grated ginger root, (or abit of curry) fresh herbs (basil, parsley), a chopped up apple or pear. Then it's all pureed at the end. We add a dollop of fresh yogurt at serving. He has pureed in cooked celery root which adds a nice sweetness.

Or a roasted red beet soup with some orange juice cooked in..I feel so naturally high and healthy when I have these soups. It's a real health buzz here.
