Specs? It started as all "Chorus" and became a blend I guess described as "Campano-plus". The only carbon parts on the bike are the brake levers and the cage on the derraileur. Everything else is metal. Not to start a material war, but I can be kinda hard on things and I feel more confident with metal. Maybe a false confidence, but that doesn't matter--placebos come in formats other than drugs.
The derraileurs and shifters are Campy Chorus, but the cranks are Shimano Ultegra with FSA triple chainrings. Originally she was going to have FSA cranks, but we swapped to Ultegra when we couldn't get the crank we wanted. I kinda like that my bike isn't "pure bred"--makes her more open-minded![]()
The wheels are Velocity Aero on DT Swiss 240s hubs. The LBS built the wheels for me--I wanted servicable, reliable wheels. Thomson seatpost and stem with a Cane Creek headset and FSA Wing Pro handlebars (nice bars!). Really, she's not a purebred.
I haven't decided if the fact that I can rattle of the specs on my bike is a good thing or wierd. I learned a ton picking out the parts even though, quite frankly, I pretty much followed the advice of the LBS.
While I won't be able to ride for a couple of months, plotting out this bike and taking delivery has at least given me a bright spot in an otherwise really cold, snowy, flu-infested winter. Hope yours, Beane, gets better.
