I lost my diamond solitaire playing baseball with my son. :''''( (my husband has not replaced it, yet, but at our 20th, he's going to whether he wants to or not!) So that leaves the two bands with little diamonds. I haven't had them off since my last back surgery in 1994--since the diamond is gone I don't have to worry about the gloves.

I'm glad you weren't wearing your diamond, too. It was so heartbreaking to lose mine. I'm still a little mad at my husband for not going out and buying me a new one but he also knows I wouldn't want to make payments on it. Our insurance had recently been changed and the jewelry rider was left off so I couldn't even claim it!!

I always wear earrings--dangley ones, mostly. I use the little rubber tubes on the backs of French wires so they stay in no matter what. I have those earrings with little bikes on them that someone posted here once--they have a unique clasp that stays locked.

I take jewelry off when I ride. Have lost earrings in helmet straps, hands swell, so the rings go, and the watch goes too (have bike computer if I really want to know the time).

The only jewelry I wear daily is a necklace, which I'll wear for months at a time, and sleep with it. I wear a leather cord with something lightweight on it, my favourite is a rounded "cube" of blue glass with a piece of metal foil in it, it catches the light beautifully

Can't stand wearing anything on my hands, if I put a bracelet or rings on for a party I end up fiddling with them all evening, taking them off and losing them somewhere. Which is a bit unfortunate, as I recently inherited a really nice diamond ring from my grandmother, that I'd like to wear. I'm thinking of having it made into an earring instead and getting my ears pierced.

I have a really nice bracelet with a fleur-de-lis design made out of a bicycle spoke by a guy at Cycles d'Oro in Greensboro NC. I always get comments on it, and I love that it's made out of a spoke.

Ditto, except that my wedding band often stays on (plain platinum band). That's only because it's too small and I can't get it off easily anyway.

Does my Road ID count as jewelry? I always wear two when I ride: one on my ankle and one on my wrist. www.roadid.com

My info has changed, and now I want to get a Road ID Interactive so I can update and won't be needing a new info plate each time info changes.

And... the ankle ID holds a Champion Chip comfortably!

I'm a member of an Episcopal religious order. One of my vows is that I have to wear the symbol ( a cross) daily. I usually put it on in the morning and take it off at night. I've found if I do a morning ride and don't put it on, it stays in my jewelry box all day

My ti/red gold no stone wedding band only comes off to wrench on the car.
Otherwise I usually only wear jewelery when I'm playing dress-up.

I used wear a lot of jewelry. Now I wear my wedding band, which is a skinny gold band with a circle of diamonds and my birthstone ring (golden topaz), which my dad brought back from Japan for me when I was 13. I also wear earrings, usually a pair of larger gold studs. Oh yes, and a watch. When I am dressed for work or something more than lounging around, I usually have a bracelet on, too. Most of those I inherited from my mom; a couple were gift from my husband.
When I ride, I keep the rings on. Once in awhile, the birthstone bothers me under full fingered gloves, but then I will turn it around or adjust it and it's fine. If I want to wear a watch while riding, I have a plastic Nike watch that Trek Travel gave me for going on 2 tours with them. It has a lot of features I don't use. I never use my HR monitor anymore; I was paying more attention to it than to enjoying my ride.
I recently stopped wearing my earrings while riding; the holes where my ears are pierced are enlarged and I can't wear anything except studs with the big plastic backs. I lost the earrings Steve bought me for Mother's Day last year when I was taking my hat off at the theatre a couple of months ago. They are constantly falling out of my ears just from a slight touch, so I quit wearing them because the helmet sometimes knocks them out. I want to have surgery to fix the piercings, but insurance doesn't pay for it; I am going to save up and have it this year, hopefully.

I'm a goldsmith, and I'd strongly advise against wearing rings when riding. A fall would jeapordize most types of settings, making it likely that stones could be lost. Semi precious stones are especially vulnerable to breaking, so Brandi, if you love that moonstone, take it off before you ride!

Maillotpois, your ring may not be destined to have those dents forever. Have your jeweler take a look at it. She may be able to remove some of the lesser damage, and minimize the bad dents through sanding and polishing.

Can't wear my rings on the bike, even if I wanted to. My hands swell. (Same when I'm running... or any sport, for that matter... or on a plane.) I always put my rings in the very same place in my apartment, and never ever take them off and put them, say, in my pockets. I would be really angry with myself if I lost them...

I don't wear earrings when I do sports, either. I can't bear the thought of what it would do to my earlobes if I was in a crash or something. Too much of a risk for very little aesthetic benefit, in my book of course. Note that I wear very little jewelry anyway.

So that leaves only my RoadID, which I wear in my neck (Fixx). It has a little flower etched on it...! And my sports watch, a Timex Triathlon that I definitely wouldn't call jewelry!
