If it were me, it would be the alcohol, dairy, rye and wheat that would drive my HR up. Alcohol does that, plus it's a classic symptom of food allergies. But it could be any or all of the aboveSounds delicious and worth a few extra BPM

since I stopped drinking coffee, whenever I have some, it sends me to the moon. Rich food, combined with sugar and caffeine, makes me feel nervous and edgy if I eat too much. I'm okay if I only have a bite of this or that, but if I eat more than usual, I notice a change. Then I have a few days of fresh fruit and lots of water and I feel much better. I think all that food sounds wonderful, though! I'd much rather have that to choose from than junk food!
I don't drink caffeinated drinks at all. It seems to be one of the triggers for my migrane. I have to be careful even with Chai tea, green tea...
Saturday, we rented "Groundhog Day" and "Ratatouille". We watched Ground hog day on Saturday and on Sunday we watched the cartoon. Along with it I made some beef bourguignonne (we used buffalo meat instead). Seems to be fiting since the cartoon was about fine dining not that beef bourguinonne is fine dining per se. I think of it as more of a country food. but anyway I digress. along with the beef, we had some red wine. I only had half a glass.
And I was paying the price yesterday Monday! Couldn't for the life of me figure out why I was feling so yuck! got on the trainer and gave up only after 35 minutes. My heart rate only went up to 153 instead of normal 180-something. struggled mightly. Then I realized "oh its the wine". It may also have to do with not used to eating much red meat.
so you are not alone with the rich food. But it does taste oh soo goood.

Last night we had filets wrapped in bacon, big salad, baked potatoe's. And a cookie for dessert. We did have friends over for dinner. Today I feel sluggish!
So I need to make some good veggie soup for us to eat for the next few days to make up for all the junk we have had the last week. I forgot to mention the super bowl party we went too! Trying to forget about what I ate and drank there!
Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.

Brandi, I just made a yummo butternut squash/potato/leek pureed soup if you want the recipe...
Soup! I just made some fantastic carrot soup. It's like cream of carrot, but there's no cream, just onions and garlic, carrots, potatoes, herbs, and broth (chicken or veggie, according to your orientation) Saute it all up, simmer in the broth until everything is nice and tender, and puree in a blender until smooth. I also baked some homemade bread. yum.
