    Nervous!

Ok, tomorrow will be the start of my very first group organized ride for the American Lung Association, and I'm nervous already! I'll be riding 50 miles for 3 days, and my bf will be riding as well. I'm just nervous, about riding with 300 other people, about eating enough, drinking enough, keeping up with everyone, and not crashing into the person in front of me (pretty much everything)! I've read the posts related to the rules of organized rides, and will keep them in mind (especially the one about getting food and then standing in line for the porta-potty - good one!) - anything else that I really should be told? And if not, then how about a little good energy sent my way! It's suppose to rain on Saturday and Sunday - hopefully it will wait till the afternoon/night, and I wont be affected.

One thing to remember...every single last one of those 300+ riders have done "their first group/organized ride"! I can relate on a lower level...I will be getting a road bike any day now and will be joining a group soon Butterflies are forming just thinking about it!

Listen to your body and make sure you nourish yourself properly. You will have a blast! Many wellwishes for a smooth and safe ride

keeping you in my thoughts loni!! No matter what, like everyone said....have fun. As for the 300+ riders, after the initial start they'll all sort themselves out and you won't have crowds like that to deal with the whole ride.
My first organized ride I was soooooo afraid.....same thing...afraid I'd cut someone off and they'd fall or hit someones tire , or run into someone, but it wasn't that bad. Foot races were rougher to start than this! I also had a buddy who sheltered me at the beginning, have you talked to your BF?...let him know you're nervous and to stay with you for the start? He should be able to shelter you some until everyone gets themselves sorted out.
Let us know how it went when you get back!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

Thank you all for your support! I feel better already, and I will definitely let you all know how it goes! I did talk to my bf and told him I was very nervous, and he's being really great about it, no matter what he's going to stick with me . And I also went and had a 1/2 hour massage that did wonders! I'm still a bit nervous, but I'll just have to turn that into pure energy tomorrow! Can't wait!
