Aw, so nice to know you're thinking of little ole' me!!

The day has been good! Funny how what would have been a slightly better than average energy day for me 5 months ago is now a fantastic day! I feel great!

I can't believe that I still have some energy left! yahoo!

Kickboxing was great. I need to eat earlier, though...some of those pushups were HARD! heehee

I've struggled since I got home trying to think of what to eat without cheese....I'm microwaving a potato and boiling eggs and I'll have some mushrooms and peppers on the side. that should do me!

Day 2 without ginger and the folks at work have noticed a difference. Apparently, I didn't look as grey today. yay!

And, yeah, I agree. If you know just what the allergy is, and all that it does, you may be able to tolerate it sometimes in moderation, in order to enjoy your favourite things. It's all about joy, right?

I feel so lucky to be part of this forum! you gals are amazing!

    Namaste,

can you tolerate tofu?.....you can use that was a cheese substitute. There are also cheeses made with alternatives, my problem is they all have casien (sp) which is a milk byproduct so they're no go for me.

Tofu would be great if you can locate it, easy to digest and a low rate of allergy problems
Its pretty tasteless on its own, but mix it up with the food you can tolerate, and it makes a filling source of protein
I have made both yummy desserts and tasty savoury dishes with it - its very versatile

    Hi, ladies!

thank you, thank you, thank you!

today was great! last night was a road ride - I even posted my km's on bikejournal....and I'll post tonight's mountain bike ride, too!

health-wise...day 3 ginger-free went very well. my friend went to see the same the "naturopath" for a treatment and they talked about me some. my friend told her how I'd stopped on the ginger tea and that I think I may be allergic. when the lady heard it burns, she thought....maybe I'm forming an ulcer. not to leave any stone unturned, I looked it up. I had no idea that fatigue is a symptom of peptic ulcer. Or that most ulcers are caused by a bacterial infection. Or that the most useful over the counter anything to take for it is DGL which is an extract of licorice root. I've been drinking licorice tea as the antidote for my other allergy for years!!

with that in mind, I read what ulcer patients should do and followed along a little bit....

I made sure I did not eat later than 3:30 before my 6:30 ride. I drank licorice tea with my last meal....(my tummy was starting to feel "acidic")...I have now eaten potato and cheese and some veggies. I think the licorice tea will be helpful. tomorrow I look for DGL.

my stomach was not bothersome on the ride at all. and I was talking a mile a minute, so I'd say I have pretty good energy. I feel great now - just want to get my mountain bike fit as well as my road bike!!

and, yes, I can get tofu here, but do they make cheese flavoured tofu? I mean, cheese is good for protein, and for melting (tofu doesn't melt, does it?), but it's the flavour I love!! Do they make a tofu cheese substitute that is even remotely close for cooking or something? that would be so cool!!

    hahaha!

I'm so happy now! yay! thank you for your awesome support!!

    Namaste,
    ~T~
