    trainer

I've no idea how to gauge the km's cycled on a trainer but i think there's a thread out there waiting for me to do my search on it..

Anywho, my goal for feb is based by time on the trainer & what i do whilst on it. I aim to add 10 min each week during the month of Feb. I'd like to have enought power (in my right leg) to be able to stand out of the saddle & push my right leg right round. The world is not flat and there are some small hilly bits that i will face on my outside rides.

So by the end of feb, i should be @ 1hr on the trainer.

I will keep swimming 3x's a week, walking 45min @ the beach, pilates, deep water running & home based exercises to get me there

    Okay.
I didn't really join in the other thread, but...
I do have mileage goals set for each month.
They are considerably smaller than Veronica's, but if I hit them, the cumulative total will be yet another personal best for me.
And because I am such a nerd, I put them all in an Excel spreadsheet, so I can track them each month (after I download my BikeJournal totals for the month!) and set up formulas and all that good stuff.
Let's see if a block copy/paste will work, and I'll throw it all out there:
    2008 Target miles
    Month Target (actual) miles
    January 150 (155)
    February 150
    March 200
    April 300
    May 300
    June 400
    July 400
    August 400
    September 400
    October 300
    November 300
    December 200
    Total 3500
    2007 Seven ID8 - Bontrager InForm
    2003 Klein Palomino - Terry Firefly (?)
2010 Seven Cafe Racer - Bontrager InForm
    2008 Cervelo P2C - Adamo Prologue Saddle

Well, if you're a nerd, I'm a nerd, since I use an Excel spreadsheet too.

I'm setting my sights on 500 miles (trainer + road).

Well, did 480-odd km in January. I was on holiday for much of that, which helps, but then again, I should manage to get in 100+km of commute riding in each week in Feb. I think 600 km for Feb would be a very achievable or even slightly conservative goal. Time will tell!

LOL Diva... you did 480 odd kms? Whatdya do to make 'em odd? Wear a soft toy on your helmet? Sit on the handle bars? Hmmm? Hmmm?

Seriously, I just did a tally for February thus far and am pleasantly surprised to find I am so far ON track that I only need to do a minimum of 8.2kms per day (about 5 miles I think) to meet my Feb goal!
    That sounds pretty achievable

No mileage goal, due to the uncertainty of the weather this time of year. My goal will be to ride outside every day that conditions are safe (no ice, no snow, etc). A cold front is going to "visit" us early next week, so in order to get myself outside in the bitter air when it's still dark, I need to have that goal.

But spring is coming. I can feel it---the birdies are starting to sing early in the morning and the sun is coming up earlier.

Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

My dad used to brag that he could ride a bicycle backward. And he could!
