    I'm 5'5". I don't think I've ever been called tall!

Enjoy your new mixte! Please post some pictures.

If the rims are rusty, but otherwise in good shape, see if you can get your hands on some Quick-Glo to clean it up.
I cleaned up the rims and bars on an old Schwinn cruiser I got at a yard sale, and they look great. The stuff is hard to find, however.
I saw this, too, on cleaning wheels...http://www.bunchobikes.com/chrome.htm

OK- here she is in all her classic glory. Her rims are rusty, and her handlebars are not the prettiest (and she's got some scratches in her paint), but she's so pretty and I just love her. Once I cleaned the paint, I realized it's pretty sparkly (like glitter)- so purty. I've lusted after a mixte for some time, and finally got one. Bought her for $7, put about $70 worth of repairs into her (tires, tubes, a new seat, sparkly handlebar grips and chain) and she's like *new.* I couldn't be happier. Now I'll just donate the other two riding around town bikes I have lying around to the local women's shelter, and everyone will be happy.

I know how long you have been looking for one. She's a beauty! Love the basket, it's just like mine. Mine made so much noise as I rode, I finally took it off.

What kind of tires do you have? I need new tires and want gumwalls. I covet the sparkly handgrips too!

Very nice! And what a wonderful thing you're doing for the women's shelter.
