    I do weigh daily, first thing in the am. I too fluctuate within a range, so I enter it in a spreadsheet and plot my weekly averages. I only freak out if my average weekly weight goes above range, and then I know I need to cut back until its back down, or rather thats my plan although since I lost my weight that hasn't happened yet, but I do think when I have a week where I am at the high end of the range I intuitively cut back on things like alcohol and chocolate and then I come right back down to the low end of my range. I NEVER freak out if my weight is at the high end of my range for a single day, cuz I know its due to changes in fluid balance.

    I too got into this habit when I was losing weight, cuz it was the only way to detect a slow but sure loss. But it does help me maintain my weight loss. Knowledge is power.

    We keep the scale in the bathroom for lack of storage space!!

    I weigh myself every day out of habit. It started when I picked up cycling big time and lost a few pounds, making my mother worried. So I was making sure that I was not going down or even too close to 115. (I am regularly 120-122 at 5'4".) Now that my weight is extremely stable, I mostly step on the scale before and after runs to see if I've lost too much water...

    I stop thinking about it as soon as I step down and it has no connection with my eating, I think.

    I recently started weighing daily in the morning, after dropping 12 very unhealthy pounds since fall. I'm considering getting back to keeping the info in a spreadsheet again. Our scale tells us fat %age, muscle mass and a few other things, so the reasons for changes in weight can be seen. It's nice to see when the weight has gone up if it's muscle or not. I'm pretty much at my target weight, but want to increase muscle mass, so I'm increasing my workouts now and trying to be smart about it. Between my clothes, the mirror and my DH, I know the weight loss looks good on me. I'm hoping it will translate into speed and power on the bike, too.

    I do weigh myself everyday,in the morning. If I don't, I can get off track with my eating. I know I gain about 2 pounds over the course of a day, and that is normal for me. It is gone the next morning. I used lose a couple of lbs. after a long ride or work out, but that doesn't seem to happen any more.
    I also know by the feel of my clothes. At my height (barely 5' 1") even an ounce makes a difference. Then I cut back on high glycemic carbs, wine, etc.
    I lost about 6 lbs when I was sick last fall. I got back to my regular weight around the end of December (it was nice to be told to gain weight), and now I am taking a medication that has weight gain as a side effect. I noticed I had gained about 5 lbs. when I got back from vacation, despite 4 days of strenuous x country skiing. So, now I am really watching what I eat. I've lost about 2 of the pounds, but it's pretty hard for me to lose weight under normal circumstances. I've weighed around 105 for most of my life since high school, except for when I was teaching aerobics and I got down to 90 . I started gaining in my late forties and that's when I started cycling.

    i weigh myself just for the weight loss challenge - friday morning first thing. i dont wanna know til the weighin - if i found out i'd lost weight i'd tend to slack off. i really look forward each friday to seeing how well i did. if i did poorly i woudln't wanna ruin my day every day of the week. once a week is perfect for me..

    I have noticed that the more frequently I weigh myself / think constantly about what I eat, I seem to gain weight or feel heavier...which is half of the time, my imagination.

    I'm probably obsessive in other areas of my life, so prefer to not add the weight matter to more things.

    Would be of value that I weigh myself now after I had my homemade birthday dinner yesterday when my partner spent several hrs. dreaming up the lovely gourmet dishes? I have to be abit insane to get on the scale now...
