I tried some speedwork drills this morning, two sets of 300m slow/normal/fast. First, I discovered that I really only have two speeds since what I perceive as slow was basically no slower than my regular speed (about 2 seconds/100m different). Second, I discovered that my fast is decently fast (15 seconds/100m faster) but that I'm at my current physical limit. I definitely need to do more of these. I'd love to swim at this fast speed for my pool swim triathlon but right now it takes too much out of me and I'd be toast for the rest of the events.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Wahine, I did 3050, which I'm pleased as pie with! Considering my ankle really didn't like kicking, I did the whole thing kicking with one leg or barely at all.

Nice work Kimmy!! You did great. Maybe you should swim 1 legged all the time.

To get back into swimming I've gotten some plans off this website: http://www.swimplan.com/

The couple drills I've done gives me a good work out. Has anyone ever used this website and how often should I do drills? I've been trying to swim 2-3 times a week.
