You will NOT want to wear a real pair of biking shorts under your wetsuit. Get some tri shorts. Well worth the investment. I also love doing my long runs in them as well. No messing with panties going up my booty.
As for your butt hurting... you gotta look at it in the scope of things. If you are doing a sprint, it's only maybe an hour on the bike. A little butt hurt after an hour on the bike isn't that much suffering.
I was surprised though, as I rode my HIM (57 miles) in my tri shorts and my butt didn't hurt at all. I had throughly broken it in on the saddle by the time the race came around.
Now, keep in mind that I am SENSITIVE... right now since I'm breaking my butt back in on the saddle, after my 3 hour rides I can't even put on underwear when it's all said and done. Yes, I put on body glide and I reapply... I put on chamois butter... and I still get raw and red by the end (same shorts as always, even got new ones... same saddle). That will go away once I build up my tolerance again though.
Dang... what was the topic again?
OH.. yea... the Rapida Tri Tops by Desoto... ROCK! They are high on the neck and low on the waist. Goes to my hips. I love covering my belly in a race!
