    perspective...

    Hey Girls-
Just got a call from an advertising rep that was supposed to come see me today.
His 28 yr old daughter was in an awful car accident this am. She went through the windshield, and apparently they are going to have to remove one of her lungs.
Apparently she is a competitive swimmer, so she is facing not being able to swim again.
    Very sad.
Makes my achy hip and grumpy hamstring seem trivial.

Wow ^ that's not cool at all Hopefully she turns out OK.

I injured myself on purpose with an epic new tattoo on my right leg- it goes from just above the knee to the top of my hipbone I'll be out for a couple of days while it heals up.
Because not every fast cyclist is a toothpick...

Wow! Thank you all for posting! You humour and candid comments are great! I think I'm glad this thread did not exist when I was sick last year - I would have hated to have ovewhined and brought the party down!

I'm sending loads of happy butterflies to you all for all of your injuries to heal well and for you to do all the right things (i.e. not to much, and be patient), while the healing is happening.

And extra butterflies for the poor girl in the accident. It sound horrific!

    Hugs and butterflies,
    ~T~
    The butterflies are within you.

Tomorrow will be ONE YEAR since I was in the car accident that tore up my SI joint. I've turned into a little bit of a gym rat-- swimming and machines - sometimes the treadmill but I usually pay for that the next day. I had two injections into the joint that helped. I have been back on my mountain bike a few times recently. I always hurt later, but my back hurts most the time anyway, so I would rather ride and hurt than not ride and hurt a little less.

On another note my husband who got hit and run December 5 and ended up in the hospital for five days with a broken rib and collapsed lung is 100% better and back to commuting every day.
