I think the pearl combined with tan handlebar tape and Brooks saddle is one class act.

Yeah, the pearl IS nice and I would have chosen that had I seen the two colors in the flesh, indstead of just seeing them online, but I DID get a very good price seeing as how I got last years model. Since I bought a new hybrid bike (Trek 7300) last week and all the accessories I'm sort of running out of money... I can always have it painted the color I really want: Rage Red! LOL!

Early last fall hubby hopped on a '06 Specialized Tricross and the bike shop was going to offer him a great bargain. He opted out because he didn't think he'd like a compact instead of triple. He's wanting a bike that is suitable for not only riding long distances (and able to keep up with the Madone and Roubaix crowd) but able to put on racks and fenders in a jiffy. He likes the concept of the Portland and did test ride one at our LBS, but it was one size too small. So today I'm going to call and see if another bike shop still has the Tricross or a Portland ready for a good home.

Knot, wish we had steel bikes around here.

Went by the LBS and talked to them about a Portland. They offered me a great deal on a '08 and so I told them to order one and to be sure and get the brown handlebar tape and saddle. Hubby is excited all over again. The bike should be ready to go by this weekend. Woo hoo!!
