Gawd, it took me a minute to figure that out.Maybe I am wasting my time by not taking the percocets. Maybe it's already too late for me.

Don't be too hard on yourself. The girls on the tri forum are used to these kinds of phrases from me. This is your first exposure. You'll get the hang of it soon.

I feel like I'm whining but my foot still hurts. First thing in the morning and any time I have been sitting for a while I look and feel like I'm 90. Actually my 85 year old Mom walks better than I do and I could never keep up with my late paternal grandmother till she broke her hip at 99 so I aspire to feel 90.
With the remodel the bikes are upstairs, tarped and on the rack. I could ride of course but I need to reconfigure my schedule and make time for me. With work starting on the kitchen flooring on Monday I'm clearing things out of that area but I may have to say "stop, I need a ride or a workout now!" sometimes.
I need to lift, stretch and loose weight or at least 2 out of 3.

I'm getting quite a bit closer to the goal.. I'm not there yet & still have to work on core strength plus getting the glutes & hammies stronger. My knee/leg still "wobbles" a bit but 'that'll hopefully stop once my hammies & glutes are up dere ya know..
I'm happy that i can cycle "normally"-I think I had a mental block about the tightness around my knee and just needed the confirmation from the physio that it's ok & give it a go. YAY..
I missed going to the pool this week as our car died & was only fixed yesterday
I went to my pilates studio and worked on core strengthening stuff for my sholder. I think half of the problem with my clavicle bugging me again is i'm not using the right muscles plus lack core stuff..
So, I am going to work towards the goal of cycling outside by mid feb. I have a bit to go but if i work on the strengthening exercises I should get there.
off to the beach a bit later for a long walk
First PT is scheduled for Monday, but I think I did some damage today. DH and I went out snowmobiling, and 8 hours/230 miles later, my shoulder is KILLING ME! Guess I should probably rethink that MTB ride in the snow/ice tomorrow, huh?

Shefly,
Sounds like you and I are cut from the same cloth. I just read your post to my DH and said...seeee.....I am not the only one that has a hard time resting.
I have been driving him crazy. He finally asked me to do nothing for an entire week to see if it helped. Not that I had been doing much, just swimming. But after two weeks of very little improvement he said...please, just try.
So I have been good since Tuesday. Light weights upper body, all seated that is it. But I keep trying to make deals with him. " Honey, if it feels better by mid-week, do you think I could try the pool again? "
I just feel the clock ticking and my training slipping away...my season getting closer and here I sit!!! I will probably have to rethink my race season. No way I will be ready by May if this keeps going.
Oh well...patience, books, pots of soup.
But today I am going outside...even if I just have to stand there and suck in fresh air!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CC glad you're progressing.
I remember once snowmobiling and losing all feeling in my arm for about a month. When we did it this month in Tahoe, the snowmobiles had a lot less vibration so it wasn't a problem. Boy it's fun getting out there - I can see why you couldn't resist.
So yesterday I cut my hair - short. I had fairly long (and thick/curly) hair, which has been long most of my life, but right now I can't even put it in a ponytail with one hand. It was driving me crazy - and since I won't be able to raise my arm for 2 months, I figured I would just make that easier to deal with. (I have enough trouble putting on socks w/1 hand - let's at least make something easier!!!) My stylish is an athlete - she understands.
I've ordered 2 different slings, one pointed out to me by Wahine, so that when I set up the bike on the trainer next week I won't have to worry about my arm jostling. I have not even looked at the team's training calendar (which I created) to see which rides I will for sure miss. Not ready yet.![]()

Hee-hee! Unfortunately, my DH is my enabler. Even if I wanted to rest, he would have none of it. This is the same guy who was on his trainer three days after surgery for a torn meniscus this year....
I did go out for my MTB ride today. Probably shouldn't have, but couldn't resist. Spent 2 hours riding in the snow and ice - hard going, but fun. My shoulder is pretty sore now, so I think I will rest now - at least until tomorrow.
Now - Rocknrollgirl - listen to your hubby

p.s.
MP - I can totally understand how your arm could fall asleep after riding a snowmobile. The sleds have gotten much better in their design, however, but 8 hours on one is enough to make any tired and sore!
