Uphill Grind is an oldie but goodie. First of all, it's excellent hill training. But best of all, it's relatively SHORT in duration. I love combining it with Hillacious or even one of the leg strength-building workouts.

Hey, SK, thanks for that. Sounds like very sensible advice. Spouse would like Uphill Grind, too, I expect.

Look for ones that have the duration you like (many are the 45-55 min range and there is a leap to much longer sessions) and then adjust your gears or resistance or whether you stand until you gain more fitness. The structured intervals at any effort are better than too easy.

The Team Clydesdale tape makes an excellent recovery tape or more mellow alternative to the Uphill Grind. Just remember that you can adjust your effort level to any workout. Pick ones that keep your brain happy.

I have 3 different spinervals and my favorite one is the uphill grind. It seems to go faster then No Slackers Allowed and Suffer-O-Rama. This has been my first season with Coach Troy and so far so good.

I'm about to attempt "Mental Toughness." I borrowed it & was just queing it up on the VCR when I noticed that it's a 9.5 difficultly level ()

I'll be back in 90 minutes to let you all know how it goes...

Ok, I'm convinced that "Mental Toughness" is not killing the next person I see in little khaki shorts and a polo shirt

I wonder if it includes rest stops.

hmmm ... for the full century ride effect, one could set up a "rest stop" table with mini pb&j sandwiches and banana halves & circus animal cookies & watered-down gatorade. And make your bathroom really scuzzy and forget to leave out the tp.

Ha! Perfect. Also, need a LONG line in front of the scuzzy bathroom.

Am now contemplating Aero Base V and how to cut it up because I ain't gonna do it all at once just yet.

    Andrea, that WAS pretty funny.

Coach Troy and I need to have a little talk about music.

I did that one IN ITS ENTIRETY one time last year. It's actually not that bad if you put on some good tunes of your own.

Jo, there are several rest stops---3 minutes each but you can lengthen them.

If the weather doesn't let up and give me safe pavement, I might have to gut that out again to prepare for the Wild Goose Chase.

So my first observation is...maybe I should try Aero Base V on a day when I haven't just finished the Spinervals 1.0 DVD.

I have a question for the Aero Base V users---I will NOT be dong this whole 2 hours, not for a long time. I'll start with doing three or four sections at once. Does it matter how I chop it up--which sections I do? I did look at them all so I have some idea of what they involve. Would any three or four sections do? Thanks.
