Uh, I believe they call this one "Spinervals for the Lame and Halt", aka Spinervals 1.0, the fitness series. You guys had me so scared of Coach Troy that I got the absolute easiest one they had just to make sure I didn't start with one that would be awful. So...I'll be working my way up. Sure hope there's a brisk trade in secondhand Spinervals out there. They ain't cheap. But it sure was fun.

Humph. Glad I'm keeping you guys entertained with my future insomnia. It's good to be of use.![]()

Go ahead. Make the leap. Get the Uphill Grind. You don't need to use the same gears that ETC tells you to use. You don't need to be able to do every climb at first. Like Veronica, I like this workout; my pea brain needs entertainment to duke out the pain. So don't worry about working your way up one 'spensive DVD at a time per the difficulty rating. Look for ones that have the duration you like (many are the 45-55 min range and there is a leap to much longer sessions) and then adjust your gears or resistance or whether you stand until you gain more fitness. The structured intervals at any effort are better than too easy.
The Team Clydesdale tape makes an excellent recovery tape or more mellow alternative to the Uphill Grind. Just remember that you can adjust your effort level to any workout. Pick ones that keep your brain happy.

Uphill Grind is an oldie but goodie. First of all, it's excellent hill training. But best of all, it's relatively SHORT in duration. I love combining it with Hillacious or even one of the leg strength-building workouts.

Pricey but worth it (especially now)
Last year I got this multi pack - http://www.spinervals.com/index.php?...roducts_id=199

I have 3 different spinervals and my favorite one is the uphill grind. It seems to go faster then No Slackers Allowed and Suffer-O-Rama. This has been my first season with Coach Troy and so far so good.
