Actually, they left 3 bikes, all of which had more value. DH's bike friday was also right next to the one they took. But the mountain bike looked coolest to a boy.

Yeh, I know what to do, been there done that. My kids already asked all their friends to be on the lookout, but after what happened with my bike friday I am not optimistic.

Thanks for the support guys. I really just needed a place to vent.

Oh no -- not again! I am so, so sorry. There is nothing else to say. I know how careful you are after having your own bike stolen. Who would ever expect to have a bike stolen out of their own home when they were there?! Boggles the mind!

Jeez louise -- there is a special place in h*ll for these thieves!

Yeh, that's why they were in my living room and not the garage. Feronia in fact was in my bedroom on the trainer. All I can say is at least it wasn't Isis or Feronia. I couldn't go through getting another custom crank set made again. I can't believe Isis was right next to this bike, and Rui's friday was right behind it, at least he took the cheapest bike in the room but it still blows.

For a while after my friday was stolen I did lock Isis to my weight bench inside my house, but then I moved the bench upstairs and thought I was being paranoid......

    grr

    trisk-How annoying Poo!

The same thing happened to Ian when we first bought our house. The first thing we did was call the good bike shops in town who might be able to put the word out. We never did see it again

I tell ya, I'd be regularly cruising the bike racks on the campus, with my receipt and bolt cutters in hand.

I've cried over so many stolen bikes in my youth. I know the feeling.

While, of course, none of your kids' friends would have done such a thing (...) certainly someone must have seen someone leave with the bike. Contact all the people who were there and ask them outright if they saw anyone take the bike.

Best of luck in getting it back.
