Guess I'll find out my results next wk. Just returned home from 2nd blood test draw today.
Meanwhile I bought a book. It looks pretty good and one of the many books on the www.glycemicindex.com that my physician-sister recommended at least to look up GI and carb values for certain foods.
She really stripped me down when she found out that I had been skipping lunch when I was at work ...for past 5-6 years. HOnest, I didn't feel hungry..but probably that is screwing up my body and maybe it's becoming insulin resistant..etc.
She herself had a high read of 9 for blood sugar. So shelost 50 lbs. on her own ,since she knew what her own doctor would tell her. (yea, she better set an example for her patients...) so I heard the phone lectures...from her earlier this wk.Thanks to my baby sister now medical advisor..
I'm still trying to reconcile with the concept of not having white rice to accompany my food. Already in last 8 yrs., I have been naturally eating less rice weekly..only twice per wk. And reduce my bread intake (it has increased in past 10 years).
Sigh. Aside from such adjustments, I guess it won't be a super radical change for me in types of foods. I just have to cut off sugar foods and eat more often, in a healthy way throughout the day. I've never liked soft drinks and seldom have deep fried foods (maybe couple times per yr.)
What do you eat to before and during a long ride...ie. up 100-120 kms. Seriously I think I will eat whatever it takes/is available during the ride to keep me going instead of falling on my face.

Thanks to my baby sister now medical advisor..
