Sorry all you folks with snow and ice and cold and wet, but it was a great day for riding all Saturday! By the beach - the air smelt good, the sea breeze was cooling...

I logged my first ride of the year on Saturday: 18 miles. Finished up at dusk, so I got to see my new Firefly (by RoadID) blinkies in action. One blue, one red. Both very eye-catching!

Only downside of ride was that my lower back once again began to feel really strained after the first few miles. My BF has tinkered with the set-up three or four times, but now suggests that I take it to the LBS this week and see if they can tweak a better fit for me.......

Joined BJ over the weekend so I can contribute my miles to TE's total........Aiming for 1500 for the year. Already have a little over 1%, woooohoooo!

I did a little over 48 miles on the trainer -- whoo hoo! A great way to get Long Steady Distance work in -- no wind, no hills, no extreme temperatures.

Now, some of you might be wondering how someone can do 48 miles on the trainer without getting really bored. Well, my secret is to find something good to watch on TV. I watched American Beauty followed by the commentary to the Six Feet Under pilot. Good stuff, but I think my housemates were a little concerned about my cynical attitude after my training ride.

Well, if you ever get this way, even just for a visit, be and sure and let me know - would enjoy meeting you both.

And thanks yfor the congrats, Mr.S I am still rapt with it. As I said, it was the first time I stayed with the leading bunch - all the way to the finish line! (I moved into F grade last September... its taken a while!)
