Silver: I think I'll go for a ride
Mr. S: It's raining!
Silver: Not on the radar
Mr. S: Look out the window
Silver: Yep, looks like it's drying.
Mr. S: What's the temp?
Silver: 50 degrees
Mr. S: OK, I'll join you.

As we're getting layered:

Mr. S: Should I wear one or two layers under my jacket?
Silver: At 50 degrees, one layer and I'd take the arms off the jacket

As we're in the kitchen about to go out:

Mr. S: [Looks at the backdoor thermometer] Silver, it's not 50, it's barely 40

Mr. Silver goes back upstairs to get more layers

6 miles into the ride, the wind goes crazy and the heavens open

Mr S: soaking wet Let's find the straightest route home.

Silver: Do you want the final leg to be the hilly direct route or the flat, longer route.
Mr. S: I want to go HOME!

20 wet cold miles at 16.5 mph average

Next time, I think I'll check the weather myself first

Silver's perspective:

Mr. and I went out for a ride! It was wonderful! We had such a good time. I was so glad to be getting my first miles for the year. I was dressed perfectly for the weather and we only had a slight wind and light mist to deal with. I could have gone another 10 miles. Mr. really pushed me on the first part and then we both took it little easier on the way home since we were fighting the wind.

I found that I didn't mind the light rain too much with the temp in the low forties and the wind not too strong. I also found that my pink jacket is really turning out to be a great cold weather jacket.

I celebrated with a cold Diet Vanilla Zero! Yum!

I got in 26 miles with 1400 feet of climbing before the rain came back. It was about 40 degrees out.

Our team ride featured some rain, some hail, some howling move me 2 feet sideways wind, a little sun, 2 flats, 2 broken fenders and one cassette lock ring fallen off...
But my feet and hands stayed DRY AND WARM (whoohoooo!) the whole time so I have little to complain about

I did 59 km with evil Coach Troy. We did "Have Mercy - The Sequel". 2 hours of quad burning, coach cursing fun for all.

It was a wet, gloomy, windy, cold day here in Kentucky. Given I'm a weather wimp I elected to stay indoors and enjoy the climate control within. I did log 21.5 miles on my trainer while I watched VH1's video countdown. Tomorrow holds a lot of promise for an outdoor ride or maybe even two.

It was a hot day

Pushing 30'C

I raced in the weekly club race, I stayed with the leaders for the whole 32km, and was well chuffed with myself. This is the first time since I have moved up into F grade that I have stayed with the bunch for longer than 10km!!!

Sorry all you folks with snow and ice and cold and wet, but it was a great day for riding all Saturday! By the beach - the air smelt good, the sea breeze was cooling...

(My partner was pleased too, He was placed 4th or 5th behind Glaen Chadwick and Jeremy Venell who both rode with our club on Sat.
And my 14 year old got 4th or 5th in his grade too. And I got 8th I think... official results have not been posted on the net yet.)
