    Another new bike ordered!

Add one more to the list of those waiting for their new bike to come in!

So, today I took the plunge and ordered the Specialized Ruby Pro! I went back to test ride the Orbea. It was a nice ride and a beautiful bike. But it just didn't respond under me like I rememberd the Ruby did from my first test ride. So, I headed back to the shop with the Ruby. Worked with the same guy (their fitter) who fit me on a lower level of the Ruby (don't keep the Pro in stock). The geometry was going to be the same as the bike I would maybe be ordering, and the pro is going to ride even more smoothly and respond faster/better. Well, given that the Comp rode just the way I remembered, I can't wait!

Even with only a ~30 min fit it felt like home on the bike and seemed to really strike the right balance of smothing out the road bumps and being really responsive and zippy under me.

It should be in as early as next week. I am SOOOO excited! will be quite a jump up from my trusty Trek 1500... which has served me well and will likely be relegated to the trainer and as a crummy weather bike.

Here is the link to what my bike will look like (yes, I will post photos when it comes ) http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?spid=33599

Awesome price. That's probably what I'll spend on my next car.
I'm going to look at a Jamis Aurora today.

Hey zen- my car cost less than half of what any of my bikes have cost(and I have always sold one bike to get the next one)!(and with the few repairs it has needed in the past 2 years, it is now about at the cost of my new bike- and the new bike wasn't bought anywhere near full msrp......)! So girlfriend nothing wrong with having a car that is worth as much as a bike:-)

That is a gorgeous-looking bike! Congrats on the purchase, you are going to love it! I ride a Ruby Comp and love it - but if I knew when I bought it how much I was going to like riding, I would've gone for the Pro too. I think you made a wise choice!
