    2008 Schedule

    February 10k Snow Shore Race
    April 5k Trail Run
May 1/2 Mary, 13 mile mtb race
June Block 58 Olympic Tri--A race
July Summer Groove 12-hr Adventure Race
    August XTerra Tri--A race
    September 1/2 Mary

I just got the Triathlete's Training Bible and am working on putting together a schedule. I'm excited to have some direction in my training. My goal is to kick the XTerra's butt as opposed to the other way around. Last year I had to walk the last 3 miles. That won't happen again.

Froglegs, we'll be @ Wildflower, too. We won the old ladies' oly relay so we have to go back and defend out honor. We might do Vineman again as a relay, too, but I'm having a hard time fitting it into my calendar.

Okay, since I'm entering the world of multi-sport this year, I'll share my goals. Of course, many of these are events I'm coaching so my own performance will be secondary.

Jan 5th -- New Year's Duathlon (Folsom Lake)
Feb 5th -- MTB Duathlon (Folso Lake)
March 15th -- MTB Duathlon (Folsom Lake)
April 12th -- Granite Bay Duathlon (road)
May 4th -- Wildflower Olympic Relay
    June 7th -- Summer Duathlon #1
    July 12th -- Summer Duathlon #2
    August 2nd -- Summer Duathlon #3
August 24th -- Luna Fest Duathlon (or maybe a tri)
September 27th -- Clif Bar Team Challenge or Tinley's Dirty Advantures (tri)
    November 1st -- Salmon Duathlon

In the bike racing world, I've got 12 mtn bike races and about 10 road races too, so it'll be a busy year for me!

Not sure. I have thought about it, but...

The race I could do in March... I have to travel for... which means $$$ and time off work. So I think maybe no.

The race I wanted to do in April... it's the weekend I'll be in Arizona cheering on people at IMAZ.

Otherwise... I do know that I'm doing Ironman Kentucky in August!

My schedule is still in flux but will be something like:

April: sprint tri (registration opens tonight)
    May: charity ride
June: Tour de Cure charity ride (registered)
July: sprint tri (registration opens tonight)
    August: Iron Girl sprint tri
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

This is what I have and I think this is fairly solid. Some were wavering because I didn't know if I could swim the Oly distance... but I've really come along in my swimming in the past couple weeks. Something just clicked and it seems like I could go forever now!

    April: 62 mile bike ride
    May: 1/2 marathon
    June: 2 sprint tris
    July: Lifetime Fitness Oly tri
Aug: Oly tri and possibley another Oly or a sprint. Not sure if I am going to do the second one or not.

Then September and October I'll do some running races, 5K's and 10K's mainly. Maybe a duathlon if one pops up somewhere.

    plans..plans

Well hopefully my plans will not go awry this year..
so far I have signed up and paid my money for 2 races..
1/2Marathon in Vancouver early in May
and my first ever 1/2 IM first weekend in June- this way I figure we can get back to our usual sailing races and camping etc thru the rest of the summer so for my husband and I this was a good compromise ( because of course I signed him up too

Pika - I used to do that. Have my biggest race of the year in the early summe so I could windsurf as much as I wanted and still have motivation to keep me training through the winter. It works great. Then that darned IM Can thing keeps coming up.

Not this year though. More playing this summer for me.
