I suppose the weather in CA/WA right now would be cold to some. As I write this, it's 6 degrees below zero here in Minneapolis. I have friends that live in CA and the Northwest, so I've heard what their 'winter' is like. To me, it's still pretty close to summer...hence, my suggestions. I can see how sunny AZ would be much better.
