Woke up late today (can't imagine why), to beautiful sunshine, low humidity, perfect temperature. Felt like a long run (for me) - 10K, longest I've run since I don't even remember when. Ever, is possible. Nice and slow, I didn't care. Yummy.

I am never down. I am either up or getting up.
I ran a New Year's Day 10k. It was freezing, 40 mph winds, and huge snow flakes. DD was in the baby jogger, she kept complaining about it "snowin in [her] eyes!" She was a real trooper. Finished in 52 minutes exactly . .. I'm almost positive the course was a little short as I can't run that fast with a tailwind and dry roads.
I'm back in business! - ran a pretty fast 5.5 k yesterday - first run in 2 weeks.
Then 11K base endurance today. The last 1K or so I sped up because boyfriend just couldn't take it anymore, he was running in circles around me and taking a pee in betweenand still catching up with me.

I ran a MILE yesterday! lol I knew that's not exciting, but I've had plantar fasciitis since Thanksgiving. This was my first run since then. I did it on the treadmill after warming up on the bike. My foot is somewhat sore, but I can walk this morning. That's HUGE. I'm going to try another mile tomorrow. Got my fingers crossed for still being able to do a HIM this summer...
I read this thread for some motivation this morning, kicked my @ss into gear and headed out for a short 5km run on a nearby trail. It didn't feel especially good, but I'm glad I did it.
Yesterday's New Year's Day run was better. I headed out to downtown with a friend to witness the thousand + crazy "polar bear swimmers" that hit the frigid water (6C, i.e. approx 40F?) of English Bay. It was the 88th consecutive year of the event, impressive. Some folks there have been doing it for over 30 years. Anyway, we ran back home from there, about 11 km. He's not much of a runner and did not have proper shoes but with regular walking breaks he made it, in a decent time too. It was a cool run.
I've planned all of my workouts for the next two weeks. I just have to do it, now.
About 4km in about 27mins for an average speed of about 8.9kph. Kinda warm (~26degC), but overcast at least. Legs of lead after yesterday's HOT (30+degC) and hilly ride, but at least I got out there and did it - had written run:25-30mins in my diary and didn't want to have to cross it out!
I want to get up to running at 10kph. I can do it on a treadmill, but my mind wanders so much when there's nothing else controlling my feet and I slow down without realising.![]()
Drink coffee and do stupid things faster with more energy.
3.5 miles on Monday the 1st and 2.5 miles today.
I followed another runner for a while today and my time at the 1/2 way point was WAY faster than normal! I think the distraction helped. Maybe I should start using an ipod or something just to take my mind away from the fact my toe hurts or my shin hurts or my back hurts...I'm a whining runnerOr maybe I need to vary my route to have more adventure.
God yes, I so want a Shuffle for running. But I want to buy a house, so I can't go spending money on toys when it could go into the deposit.![]()

The Shuffle was the second best thing I ever bought for running, the first being a pair of shoes to suit my gait. I love my shuffle, sorry I'm not helping.
Not been out running yet, hoping to get out tonight either on my own or with the club. Its forecast snow here today.....ha ha.
Did 3mi yesterday on the treadmill at work, the usual, then this morning I joined a new group of ladies that run on T/Th at 5am (). It was something like 20F without wind and 10 with. I was wearing more layers than I've ever rocked while running, but then I usually wait to run until the sun is up.
It was a great run though, 5.5 miles at a really slow pace (like, 12min/miles) because it was just so durn cold. And windy. And dark.
Despite all that, i think I'll go back next week!

8 miles last night in the dark, it was on my schedule for today but I did it last night because in about 2 hours the pouring rain will start, and I don't enjoy running in pouring rain and flooded streets with gutters full of rushing water. 17 days until my 1/2 marathon!!!!![]()
2.3 miles on New Year's day (44 degrees F). Scheduled for another run tomorrow morning, but the temperature will be around 18. Not sure I really want to tackle that. Maybe I'll run the treadmill at the pool...
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Got out for a run finally this year!!!! Decided not to go out with the club in case only the fast ones turned up as feeling like a very unfit bloater today. That'll teach me to be lazy in December and eat and drink way too much! 4.25 miles done, felt hard work as the first run after a break always does but its done now. Feel quite good now and will get out again tomorrow.
The forecast snow hasn't materialised in this part of the UK though is now forecast to be a parky 0C at lunchtime tomorrow when I intend running rather than the almost double figure temps that were promised earlier - the sea front will be bracing then!
