I'm interested too - my mom just had both her knees done in November. She's not a rider either, but she bands birds, so she climbs trees and runs short distances on uneven terrain. Her PT has released her to do that when the season comes back around!

I really admire your mom, Oakleaf.

My husband is faced with the prospect of knees AND hips being replaced at some point in his life. His knees--may avoid replacement, but his hips are forecast to fail before the age of 60 (he's 44). I want him to learn to love to ride as much as I do just so he can prolong his somewhat good health as long as possible. I like hearing about riders who've been there and are still riding.

    Karen
